Days 14 & 15 - Shenandoah Crossing

Turns out a yurt is pretty nice.  Fashioned after the ones used for centuries by the nomads of Central Asia, I'm guessing they've come along way.  These have hardwood floors, granite countertops, air conditioning and comfy beds.  Ours is a 2 bedroom version -- and it's a hit with the family.  A "good weird" as Janell puts it.

We have spent the last couple of days at Shenandoah Crossing -- which is owned by the same people who own Big Cedar Wilderness Club.  The theme here is based on a horse farm and it's very family oriented with lots of activities.

With the exception of horseback riding, we didn't schedule anything the entire time (quite unlike us).  We just did whatever sounded good:  kayaking, horseshoes, mini-golf, pool hopping, nature trails, karaoke, tether ball,  grilling and ice cream at the general store.  Lots to do.  Lots of fun.
