Day 6 - Dogwood Canyon

Dogwood Canyon is a great nature park a few miles away from Big Cedar.  It consists of 3.5 miles out and back of paved trails along well maintained grounds, waterfalls and trout filled streams.  Janell and I had the bright idea of letting the kids ride bikes and us jog alongside.  The photos that follow were from the beginning of the trail -- they were too far ahead of us near the end.

The trail crosses the Arkansas state line about 3 miles in.  The kids did the limbo in.  Janell and I just crawled.

The place really is great.  Several hours of nature and no cell phone reception.  Not too shabby.

After our trek, we stopped by a berry farm nearby.  In addition to picking your own to take home, the place has a menu of great tasting blueberry muffins, cobblers and, my oh my, blueberry pancakes.

We ended our day at Branson Landing -- enjoying the fountain show choreographed to rock music and some Mexican food along Lake Taneycomo.

  1. Hi there Ferguson Clan! We miss you guys already. Looks like you are off to a great start of creating wonderful memories. Thanks for the ideas on this blog. We've been to Big Cedar for the past 3 years and have never stopped by the berry farm, Branson Landing, or jumped off the cliffs. Happy Travels! Vicki
