Day 28 - Herhseypark

Are we in Pennsylvania or California?  We got to the park under sunny skies and 70 degree weather.  One would guess California except for the absence of mice and ducks, instead replaced by large kisses, twizzlers, and kit kat bars walking around...

`We have been to Hersheypark a couple of times during visits to Baltimore.  But both of those had been in the winter when the park was transformed into a Christmas village.  Those times were great, but the roller coasters were not running then, so we always looked forward to returning when we could ride the 11 different coasters in the park.  Chas and Sofia have always loved the thrill of coasters.  They share that with their Dad.  Tyner's appetite may be even larger, but his size limits what he can typically ride.  Ileana is a bit more reserved like her Mom.  Instead, preferring the milder rides which stay closer to the ground, but spin (which actually makes me sicker than the coasters).

Chas & Sofia in front of the Wildcat - an original Hersheypark coaster that will rattle your brain!

Mommy, Ileana and Chas on "The Whip" -- which is another original ride from the early days.

Fahrenheit - A initial drop which is actually steeper than straight down.

Count 'Em - 11

We managed to get 8 out of the 11 ridden the first day.  The park was fairly empty on at Thursday afternoon -- the calm before the 4th of July storm no doubt.

The park is extremely well run with high quality employees -- a discernible difference compared to some other parks we've been to.  And, unlike some other parks we've been to which are about the atmosphere of the country, the Ozarks or the magic of Disney (all of which are great), this one is about the rides and the food (which was all high quality as well).  Can't say enough good things about Hersheypark -- especially when it's got California weather and Oklahoma crowds.

Today was a day with a lot of smiles and good screams.
